Know the truth or pay the consequences

Can someone explain how an ingredient mass-produced in a factory using a method protected by patents** is “naturally occurring?”

Psychologists tell us that if you hear something often enough you will begin to believe what you hear.

And Ajinomoto, along with its assorted PR firms, tells us over and over again that “monosodium glutamate (MSG) and the glutamate in MSG are ‘naturally occurring.’”

But that doesn’t make it true.

There’s no such thing as ‘natural’ MSG

The FDA is fond of saying that there are “naturally high levels” of MSG in some foods, notably tomatoes and processed tomato products. That’s simply not true. MSG is manufactured. There’s no such thing as “natural” MSG.

If MSG is ‘natural’ why have hundreds of patents been issued for methods of producing it?

Monosodium glutamate (MSG) found in an animal, vegetable, or mineral was manufactured and then ingested or added in some manner.

Below are just three examples of patents pertaining to the manufacture of MSG. There are literally hundreds more. MSG is man-made.
